Description
The Modern Robotics Core Power Distribution Module incorporates a 7 port USB hub and 6 x 12v power distribution terminals to support power and USB connections for up to 7 Core USB modules. There are 3 modules available as of the posting date of this listing, with a sliding discount for the 2nd or 3rd module. Each of the 3 modules has been modified to accept Anderson Power Pole connectors for a faster, more reliable connection (see the black and red connector pigtail. These normally come with a Tamiya R/C battery plug, which are notoriously loose)
A controller phone or tablet (Android-based) plugs into the side of these units with a USB cable, not included. The OTG cable is USB micro to USB mini and readily available on eBay and other online stores. The Core Power distribution module was the base module, powering other modules you will find in my seller listings, such as motor controllers, servo controllers, core device interface (usually for sensors) and the core legacy module (interfacing to the previous generation, HiTechnic DC motor and Servo controllers).
FIRST Tech Challenge robotics (FTC) use these with java-based phones to control their robots. Over 4,000 teams compete in this challenge every year!
FTC teams are now using a controller made by REV Robotics, but these are very valuable and useful controllers for both makers and industrial control. Modern Robotics web page has additional details and usage information if you search on "Core Power Distribution Module."
