Description
For sale is this incredible WWII era coin with a bullet that struck it, and wedged itself in there. The coin is a Russian (or at least northeastern European) silver coin. It would have likely been in circulation during the time of WWII. I am unsure of the exact story of the striking, but for the bullet to be wedged in there as it is, it would have to have been moving relatively slow (possibly after passing through something first, or at an incredible distance). Meaning it piercing the coin is just a random probability. The bullet is consistent with period (copper jacketed lead bullet) with the rifling marks consistent with being fired. It almost looks to me like it is about a 7.62 caliber round (but this is just my best guess). I am not sure of the exact story that goes with it, but think that it is still an incredible piece. It would make a great collectible! I will include a small plastic display case with it (it isn’t much, but is a great way to display it and protect it). The bullet seems to be wedged in there pretty good, so I believe it is secure. The coin is authentic. I am not sure if it was struck and wedged, or struck and found with the bullet nearby (and someone put it back in there). Either way it is a very cool piece! This would be a great addition to any collection, a great conversation piece, a great teaching tool, or perfect for a gift! Great for any collection! Don’t pass it up!Be sure to check over the details and look at all of the photos so you will know exactly what you’ll get!
